CASA Training

Initial volunteer trainings are held twice a year (Spring and Fall) in McCurtain County. Choctaw & Pushmataha Counties combine their potential volunteers and schedule Spring and Fall training sessions also.

Dates will be posted as they become available.

All volunteers are required to complete 12 hours of in-service training per year once initial training is complete.

Little Dixie CASA offers these in-service trainings on a regular basis. Past topics have included: self-care, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency and Choctaw Nation resources.

The program provided an all-day in-service retreat in the summer of 2006. Volunteers were able to spend the day learning more about issues that affect the children and families they serve. This event also allowed the opportunity to get to know volunteers in other counties and to share ideas and strategies.

Volunteers are also invited to take part in the Oklahoma CASA Association state conference which provides vital information on topics associated with CASA work and networking opportunities.
